One of the most important additives in the concrete industry is concrete glue. Among the uses of concrete glue, we can mention concrete repair, waterproofing, repair of old concrete textures, increasing concrete strength, preventing concrete cracking, increasing chemical and mechanical properties, etc. Concrete adhesives can be divided into two categories: epoxy and latex (polymeric). All adhesives either contain polymers or are produced during chemical reactions. Polymers make adhesives stick.
Latex glue is an emulsion of copolymers soluble in water. The appearance of this glue is a milky liquid. The combination of latex glue with Portland cement and sand creates a combination resistant to water, chemicals and abrasion, which is useful for gluing tiles, ceramics, decorative stones, etc. to surfaces.
Epoxy concrete glue is created from the polymerization of two primary components, resin and hardener. Curing begins when the resin is combined with the catalyst. In the cooking process, molecular chains react and heat is generated. The highest amount of concrete adhesive used in molecular concrete constructions reacts and generates heat. The highest amount of concrete glue is used in the repair of worn concrete. Concrete adhesives are used to increase the adhesion of concrete to the old texture in the repair of concrete. The best concrete adhesive is used in facade construction on old concrete and waterproofing due to its waterproof properties.

Application of concrete glue

The most important application of concrete adhesive is to increase the adhesion of new concrete to old concrete in repair projects, which greatly increases the adhesion of concrete to the old surface. Also, this property is used when building facades on old concrete. White cement glue prevents water seepage and prevents the separation of fine and coarse grains and is used for concrete sealing. If the concrete structures have suffered superficial and deep damage, they can be repaired with concrete glue and used as a concrete repairer. Among other things, the use of concrete adhesive for concrete sealing of tanks, concrete pools, concrete damage repair or most concrete structures such as water channels, floors of industrial halls, runways, dams, bridge foundations and columns:
  1. Repair of worn concrete
  2. Sealing
  3. Increased adhesion properties
  4. Prevent cracks in concrete
  5. Connecting rebar to concrete
  6. Increased mechanical strength

How to use concrete glue

In order to use concrete glue, the area to be used must first be cleaned of grease, particles and dust. Concrete glue is dissolved with water and after dilution it is mixed with cement and sand, which results in a smooth and paste-like mortar. The appropriate percentage of the mixture is 5 to 20% of the weight of the cement used. Apply a layer of glue on the concrete before using the mortar. Concrete glue is mixed and diluted with water and added to the dry parts of the concrete. The lower the thickness or the greater the pressure on it, the higher the consumption of concrete adhesive, and it is necessary to apply a layer of concrete adhesive solution to the surface before work.Layered rat is more suitable.

Features of concrete adhesive

One of the distinctive features of concrete adhesive is the increase of adhesion in concrete, which increases the adhesion of new concrete or new materials on concrete or old materials (connecting old concrete to new).
Another feature of concrete adhesive is to increase the tensile and bending resistance of concrete, prevent cracks in concrete, and increase the life of concrete structures.

Concrete adhesive properties

  1. The most important property of concrete adhesive is to increase the adhesion of mortar consisting of adhesive (about 4 times).
  2. Reducing permeability in concrete (sealing)
  3. Increasing the mechanical strength and durability of concrete
  4. Increased resistance to chemicals
  5. Reducing cracks and increasing the volume of concrete
  6. 50% increase in flexural strength of concrete
  7. Increasing permeability and resistance of concrete against freezing
